The Complaints Resolution department responds to concerns and complaints about our member’s practices or operations. Having this department in place assists with public protection.
Cathy Sveen

Cathy has a Masters degree in Conflict Analysis & Conflict Resolution from Antioch University in Ohio and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing with distinction from the University of Alberta.
She has had her own professional practice in conflict management since 1994 with a focus on teaching, mediation and consulting to groups and organizations, and has been the NHPCA's Complaints Director and Privacy Officer since 2003.

Jan served on the NHPC Volunteer Board of Directors from 2004-2007 in the role of Director, then Treasurer, and finally as President, before taking a staff position as Complaints Administrator in the NHPC office.
She has been a Massage Therapists since 1995, and is also recognized for Thai Massage and Sports Massage. Jan also has a passion for Equine Massage, and owns a horse named Max. Max has become a largely consuming part of her life, keeping her balanced spiritually and leading her to huge personal growth through his care.
Her dream for complimentary and alternative medicine is that she would like to see both our doctors and the public more able to understand the alternatives to invasive measures and prescriptions relied on so heavily by allopathic medicine, so that natural healthcare modalities would be seen as a first source of healing, instead of viewed as a last resort.
