Palpation (Great review for the massage association examinations)

As all massage therapists know, one of the essential skills of the profession is palpation. When performing a massage, the therapist is constantly checking and rechecking the location and feel of various structures. Palpation is a seminar designed to instruct the working massage therapist in the finer points of palpation and bring their palpatory skills to a higher level. Even a therapist who has been practicing for many years recognizes the needs to upgrade this fundamental skill.

This course will include regional anatomy, reviews of bones and bony landmarks, ligaments, tendons and joints, assessing textural quality of muscles and feeling for major pulses and the location of relevant nerves, a thorough demonstration of the material and lots of time to practice palpation.

Advanced palpation skills to access more challenging structures will be covered using established principles. You will leave with more confidence in your technical knowledge which will transfer into a more skilled massage. This seminar is of particular importance to those who base their practice on regional therapeutic massage however, all can benefit from supervised practice of this essential skill.

Anyone working in the health care and/or fitness industry is welcome and will benefit from this course.
