PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation)
Date: June 16 & 17, 2012
Bob Cross & Linda Hoppe
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) is an advanced form of stretching which allows the therapist to gain greater ROM and flexibility in muscles in a shorter period of time. The students will learn the physiology of stretching to better understand how the protocol works. They will learn the concepts of neuronal adaptation, autogenic and reciprocal inhibition. All the stretches will be demonstrated and there will be 5 different PNF protocols demonstrated to ensure the therapist has a choice of protocols to use on different clients in different situations.
PNF is a powerful therapeutic tool which must be practiced with caution and knowledge of its limitations. All this will be covered in the course.
We are looking forward to work with you.
