Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Symptoms are Lessened Following Massage Therapy - As many as one million adults in the United States suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). This study attempts to determine the effectiveness of massage therapy for relieving the symptoms, which include the measurement of pain, grip strength, anxiety and depression.
*
Treatment of Eight Patients with Frozen Shoulder: A Case Study Series - This study reviews the therapeutic outcome of using soft tissue mobilization (STM) treatment techniques in combination with a home exercise programme to treat eight patients with a differential diagnosis of frozen shoulder.
*
The Effect of Manual Pressure Release - This study aims to investigate the effect of manual pressure release (MPR) on the pressure sensitivity of latent MTrPs in the upper trapezius muscle using a novel pressure algometer.
Ethics Module 2
This NEW and IMPROVED module combines two lessons for the price of one! Having identified key issues in Module 1, Ethics module 2 has been peer reviewed to guarantee a comprehensive read for all. Great efforts were taken to ensure this module includes the highest quality in content and readability.
In this second instalment in the NHPC's ethics education program, Ethics Module 2 begins by introducing practitioners to key concepts in professional practice. This is accomplished by examining such questions as "what does it mean to say that a practitioner is competent to provide a health service?" and more specifically, "what does it mean for the practitioner to be said that she or he is competent to provide this service in the context of their professional job description?" A detailed examination of the principles and standards that make up a professions Code of Ethics are then discussed, and finally, this module concludes with an introduction to the concepts of an ethical sense and professional judgment which reviews several ways practitioners can nurture and develop their own ethical sensibilities.
