Jana Niven joined NHPC in March of 2012. Her role is to provide engaging, educational opportunities, including NHPC's Annual National Conferences. She is looking forward to supporting and expanding NHPC's existing educational initiatives.
Over the years, Jana has educated herself on the benefits of a variety of natural health modalities to keep herself and her son, who has faced some health challenges, feeling well. In her spare time, Jana enjoys spending time with her son and continuing her work as an artist.
Shingai joined the NHPC in June 2013 and is involved in planning NHPC events, organizing information related to events, and helping members with any inquiries relating to education and events.
Shingai holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Business Management and Economics. Before joining the NHPC, Shingai worked in Research and Policy development for the Government in Zimbabwe, as well as customer service in St Catharines, ON. She has volunteered with the Niagara Folk Arts Multicultural Centre, the Canadian Association for Latin American and Caribbean Studies as a Policy Advisor, and as an Event Manager for Junior Chamber International Zimbabwe.
Having been raised in a culture that places great importance on natural health, working with the NHPC combines her passion for not for profit work with her affinity to natural health.
When she is not working, Shingai will most likely be online catching up with family and friends around the world, trying a new restaurant, or attending a festival.
Amberle joined the NHPC in December 2013 as an Events and Education Coordinator. She is involved in the planning and execution of most NHPC events throughout Canada each year, including the Annual National Conference, National Workshop Series, and Connections Cafes. She also manages continuing education opportunities for the Centre For Learning and the NHPC Knowledge Centre.
Natural nutrition and lifestyle being her passion, Amberle attended Grant MacEwan University’s Holistic Health Practitioner program for a year before deciding to transfer to the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She graduated in October 2011 and has since been planning a personal online business as a nutritionist. The NHPC is a great fit for her as she is passionate about and educated in health and wellness, education, and putting on a good show! As a health and wellness practitioner herself, Amberle brings her knowledge and passion to the service of NHPC members.
When she isn’t working, Amberle is at home spending quality time with her husband and beautiful golden retriever Bentley, thinking of and eating delicious food, watching Downtown Abbey, involved in her church, planning out her home décor and organization, creating, exploring and spending time in the great outdoors.
