NO DECISION on the regulation of Massage Therapy was made at the October 15 & 16 Health Professions Advisory Board (HPAB) hearings.
On October 15 & 16, 2008 the Health Professions Advisory Board (HPAB) will meet and to hear presentations and gather information on the potential regulation of Massage Therapy in Alberta. The HPAB will now prepare and present their recommendations to the Alberta Government. Following receipt of the HPAB’s recommendations, it will then be up to the Alberta Government to make a decision on the regulation of Massage Therapy. consider whether Massage Therapy should be a regulated profession in Alberta and if so, under what regulatory model.
NHPC advocates the inclusive, competency-based, multiple points of entry to practice Multi-Category Model for Massage (MCM).
If you are a massage therapist – your livelihood will be affected.

TALK TO/WRITE YOUR MLA. Let them know your concerns and ask them to support the Multi-Category Model for Massage
