Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a fantastic addition to your massage toolbox.
Not only is it able to be used in many situations where regular massage is contraindicated but it is a welcome relief from the pressure intensive techniques of other massage modalities.
Backed by evidence based research and successfully applied in many different massage situations, this technique is profound in its ability to improve outcomes for our clients while providing many benefits.
These include but are not limited to boosted immune function, elimination of cellular waste and stimulation of the parasympathetic relaxation response, thus inhibiting muscle tonus and pain.
This three day workshop will provide students with a complete picture of the lymphatic system from both an theoretical and practical perspective. Current research will be reviewed with guided demonstrations and practice of the techniques and sequences, as well as thorough discussion around in clinic scenarios.
By the end of this three-day course, you will possess the ability to understand and perform a full lymphatic drainage with confidence and skill. This is a NHPC Recognized Certificate Program.
DISCLAIMER: At the end of each MLD session, students will be asked to complete 10 practicum hours of MLD treatments. After completion, participants will be eligible to receive NHPC recognized certification.

I am wondering what the timings are for the three days? I am very interested in taking this workshop. Need to set up child care.
Thank You

We are still in the process of finalizing these details; however, please plan to attend the workshop for three full days from 9am - 5pm. A detailed confirmation letter will be emailed to all registrants 2 weeks prior to the start of the workshop, which will include exact times, a list of what to bring, and any other important information.
Cheers,

Anyone can join this workshop provided they have a working knowledge of Human Anatomy and Physiology, as well there are definitely components of face and neck manual lymphatic drainage in the workshop.
Cheers!

Depending on what your Modality(ies) or Modality Domain is, you could gain between 5 - 15 credits for this 3 day workshop. If you are a Massage Therapist, this workshop would fall under an "In-Person Educational Offering" and would provide you with 15 credits (5 credits per day). If you are not a Massage Therapist, you could still receive 5 credits but they would be considered unrelated to your modality.
Please see our CCP Guide (nhpcanada.org/.../...) for more information or call the NHPC office.
Cheers!

I'm a physiotherapist interested in learning lymphatic massage. I have patients after cancer treatment that would benefit, but also patients who are interested in toxin removal. Would this be an appropriate course? Also, as I'm not a RMT, am I able to take it?
Thanks, Claire Reply | Reply with quote | Quote
Yes, I believe this workshop would benefit your patients as MLD is designed to improved the functionality of the lymphatic system. Also, anyone can join this workshop provided they have a working knowledge of Human Anatomy and Physiology.
Cheers!

Thanks for your reply. I'm wondering if this 3 day course covers the same material as the Advanced course held on May 14? At the end of the 3 days, will we be at the same level as those taking the supplementary Advanced 1 day course?
Thanks, Claire Reply | Reply with quote | Quote
To my knowledge, there is no difference between this 3 Day MLD and the Advanced program. The Advanced workshop is really for those people who have already taken the 2 day MLD workshop and wish to become Certified. By taking this 3 day workshop, you will be receiving the exact course information offered in the 2 day intro workshop and the 1 day Advanced workshop.
Cheers!
