The MVAI workshop is an entry-level instructional 3-hour workshop. It will be presented in two parts, beginning with the identification and explanation of the DTPR (Diagnostic & Treatment Protocol Regulation) government forms followed by the explanation of the automobile insurance system and how it integrates with additional health benefits.

The format will include question and answer segments interspersed throughout the power point slide presentation. The focus of the MVAI workshop is to provide Alberta massage therapists the confidence to navigate through the automobile insurance protocols effectively and present ongoing DTPR updates.

Cancellation Policy
A cancellation fee of $50.00 will apply to any cancelled workshop registrations. All workshop registration cancellations must be submitted in writing to Erica Jones at ejones@nhpcanada.org. Please note: cancellations postmarked 2 weeks prior to workshop dates and 'no shows' are not eligible for refund or credit.

Instructor

Christy has worked in the medical profession her entire career. She trained as a massage therapist from 1996 to 1999 and started her self-employment career in 1997. In 1998 she had the opportunity to relocate her business to a medical center to work alongside medical doctors. For 10+ years Christy’s clinical practice focused on motor vehicle accident (MVA) and the efficacy of massage as a viable post-MVA treatment where she received a high number of referrals from medical doctors and other Primary Healthcare Practitioners (PHCP’s).

Christy is a volunteer and chair of the Alberta Motor Vehicle Accident Insurance (MVAI) Task Force that was struck in February 2005 in response to Bill 53. She brings over 15 years of experience to the multi-organizational Task Force. Christy has acted as a consultant, teacher & presenter for workshops, conference, organizations & massage school.
