Details

In 2003 the World Health Organization estimated that there are over 303 million people worldwide who suffer from migraines, and statistics show that those numbers are increasing.

In this full day workshop you will learn how to effectively use Shiatsu Therapy to treat clients who suffer from migraines with treatment protocols for both acute migraine pain and maintenance and preventive treatments. We will also discuss the pathology of migraines, causes and self-care techniques that practitioners can share with their clients. The Shiatsu techniques you’ll learn can be easily integrated with other modalities to provide your clients with a treatment that can alleviate pain and diminish the frequency of migraines.

Shiatsu is based on the comfortable application of pressure to specific points on the body. As pressure is adjusted to suit the needs of each client, Shiatsu can be used on anyone, regardless of their condition. It is used for relaxation, stress relief or as preventive care and is used to treat countless specific conditions.

Cancellation Policy
A cancellation fee of $50.00 will apply to any cancelled workshop registrations. All workshop registration cancellations must be submitted in writing to Erica Jones at ejones@nhpcanada.org. Please note cancellations postmarked 2 weeks prior to workshop dates and 'no shows' are not eligible for refund or credit.

Presenter Leisa Bellmore is part of the integrative team at the Artists’ Health Centre at Toronto Western Hospital and has done workshops and presentations for various audiences including the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario, Alzheimer’s Disease International Conference and Toronto’s Ronald McDonald House.

0 # Jamal Gabriel 2011-10-25 04:03 Hi Andrea;

I believe the start time will likely be either 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM. I suspect it will have an early morning start since it is only a one day workshop. If you are interested in attending, please register as soon as possible to ensure you secure your spot in the class.

Cheers!

0 # Catherine 2011-11-06 04:56 Would love to come but mid week in Regina is a problem when I am from Saskatoon. This is a very prominent problem. One in Saskatoon would be great! Reply | Reply with quote | Quote
