To safeguard our employees and visitors, the NHPC office itself is closed and staff are working remotely.

Our new Board President's most distinctive features are her never-ending smile, sense of humour, and love of life.
With Shauna, family is always first. In fact, at the Annual General Meeting last year, her newborn child joined us as our latest recruit! At the NHPC, we've watched the wee one grow up as she attended a number of Board meetings. We feel like part of the family!
In her professional life, Shauna is dedicated to making her holistic health treatments convenient, empathetic, and effective.
Shauna says, "I love learning, then sharing what I learn to empower people on their journey. I strongly believe in the healing power of touch and the profound impact bodywork can have in transforming lives.
"Representing and advocating for the massage therapy profession is another way for me to share that passion with the world."
Shauna previously lived and worked in Alberta and British Columbia, and now calls Winnipeg, Manitoba, home.
She has a mobile practice, providing clients with traditional massage therapy, Healing Touch, and individualized treatments incorporating the many fantastic techniques she's learned through her continuing education.
She enjoys volunteering at numerous events in the community, giving participants on-site massage and consultations.
For her entire 13-year career, Shauna has been a member of the NHPC. She has chaired the Bylaw Committee and Complaints Resolution Task Force, and she joined the Board of Directors as a volunteer in 2016, where she acted as interim Board Secretary, then Vice-President, before becoming President.
As the Board President, Shauna is excited to oversee the new peer review complaints process to ensure our members are supported with transparency and integrity.
She hopes to grow her leadership skills by encouraging others to get involved, facilitating open discussion, and ensuring clarity of communication through precise language.
Shauna also values the power of telling stories and connecting through shared experiences, so she is eager to continue networking and building relationships through her work with the NHPC.
The old saying, "if you want something done, ask a busy person" truly exemplifies Shauna's energy. Her list of other activities is impressive: mountain biking, snowboarding, dancing, yoga, golf, and gardening.
If you're looking for advice on gluten- and dairy-free diets, Shauna is an expert, with over 10 years of experience adapting and creating recipes.
At the NHPC, we welcome Shauna to her new role and look forward to sampling some of those recipes!
