"Thai Yoga Massage: Supine & Seated Postures" ~ Join Sharon, an ITM Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai, Thailand Affiliate Instructor & Graduate for this fun and easy to learn course that is packed full of unique Thai Yoga Assisted Stretches and effective full body Thai Massage Methods.  Sharon is authorized by ITM to use the very same curriculum and Workbooks as that of the school in Thailand.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to perform a combination of 65 full body Traditional Thai Massage and Thai Yoga stretch techniques to equal a 60-90 minute treatment for the client in the Supine & Seated Postures (including acupressure points on the feet, hands and face). Many concepts may be applied to the Massage Table.

Students are taught in a hands-on step-by-step method, following a picture workbook, to enhance learning of the techniques. Instructor demonstration will be followed by practice time.  Students will have ample opportunity to also receive massage by practicing fellow students.

  • Students will be introduced to the history of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage, as well as the theory and techniques using thumbs, palm, elbows, knees and feet to create a dynamic repertoire for application by the student. 

    Curriculum Outline: 

Wed. Oct. 14: Work in Supine Posture ~ Students will learn comprehensive Thai Yoga Stretches for the lower body, starting with feet & ankles and will include work on energy line foot points.  Work will continue up the lower leg and into the thigh, introducing students to energy line work, thai massage and thai yoga stretches. An introduction to the 3-major Sen Energy Lines of the Leg will be included today.

Thurs. Oct. 15th: Work in Supine Posture ~ Students will continue to learn a focused sequence on the legs and will include many hip openers, hamstring, calf, adductor and hip stretches.  Inverted assisted stretches will be introduced and will include such things as "Assisted Shoulder Stand", "Plow" and "Happy Baby".  At the end of day #2, students will be able to perform a complete Thai Yoga Massage to equal up to 1 hour on the lower body on a client.

Fri. Oct. 16th: Work in Supine & Seated Postures ~ Today's studies will include how to perform stomach massage to open up the 'Hara' energy center of the abdomen and move energy through the main 'Sen Lines'.  More focused work will be applied to the Sen Lines of the Legs.  Students will be taught how to work on arms, hands, chest, shoulders, upper back and face. The day will end with some Seated Work to target upper shoulders and back, and will include some assisted spinal flexion & extension.

Step 2: You will be automatically sent an invoice for the balance of the course amount 14 days prior to first day of course with another SQUARE PAYMENT link.  Amount owing will be $524.75  An Automated Payment can be made with credit or debit card. 

COVID-19 Safety Precautions & Personal Protection 
during all courses

The following list of Precautions is not necessarily finalized and may change from time to time with additional elements being added, as the COVID-19 situation changes.

  • Students must wear a protective mask throughout the course.  Goggles, face shield and/or gloves are optional. Students must be aware that the Instructor, Sharon will be travelling to all cities by air (except for Vancouver) and will be arriving a maximum of 15 hours prior to when teaching the course begins.  Self-isolation for Sharon 10 days prior to the course is not possible (except for Vancouver). Sharon will wear a mask while teaching and will take every precaution to ensure she maintains high levels of sanitization.
  • All students will be expected to bring their own yoga mat, massage table (Reflexology and Table courses only), blanket, pillow and your favourite sanitizer (additional sanitizer will also be available during the course).  Students will use their own supplies to receive Thai Massage from their pre-assigned partner.  When not in use, students are encouraged to wrap or place items in a plastic bag to avoid possible contamination.  Please re-sanitize prior to use again. 
  • It is suggested that students bring a separate change of clean clothing to wear for the course that was not worn coming from home to the course. And vice versa going back home. 
  • Students will be assigned a specific marked off area to work in with their pre-assigned partner for the day.  Students will work with only 1 partner for the whole day. 
  • To assist with viewing and to avoid having to get too close to other students, Sharon will be using Zoom media during her live classroom demonstrations - students are encouraged to bring their own laptop or Tablet to aid in viewing.

Health Screening will be performed prior to the course: You will be asked if you have a fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat or loss of sense of smell, or have been exposed to someone recently who is known to have COVID-19.  Your temperature will be taken prior to entry into the course training room.  Students must sign a Waiver Form, which states that they are free of COVID-19 symptoms and that they release all Sharon from all responsibility if they become ill after attending the course. Students exhibiting any signs of illness will not be permitted to attend the course.
