MYOFASCIAL THERAPEUTIC CUPPING MASSAGE
Date: May 15th and 16th
14 hours Certificate course 8:30-5pm both days
Cupping is a very popular modality these days and a lot of sports celebrities are using cupping on a regular basis before or after a competition.
Even when applying deep therapeutic massage and releasing all adhesions, hypertonicity or trigger points in the muscle, the restricted fascia will still cause trouble to the muscle so there could be pain with motion, decreased ROM of the nearby joint, decreased superficial or deep circulation and muscle weakness.
All known techniques for releasing fascia would work well, but using silicone cups will make our work a lot easier and more effective.
Cupping will pull toxins and wastes from deeper tissue toward the superficial surface of the body. A lot less effort, but the same if not even better effects than hand massage.
Therapists could use stationary cups by applying them over body parts with suction and leaving them there for a specific amount of time or they could use mild to moderate suction and slide the cup over the body part by lifting the tissue up. Additionally, they could perform passive or active movements to increase the effect of cupping.
Most massage therapists use silicone cups for performing cupping which is an effective and valuable part of overall massage treatment for: Shoulder, neck, hip, knee and other body parts to treat pain, bursitis, tendinitis, frozen shoulder, thoracic outlet syndrome, ITB contracture, Achilles tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff syndrome or restriction in the ROM as well as hypomobility.
