Foot Reflexology is an ancient form of Massage that has been used for more than 3,000 years to stimulate the body's internal organs as well as blood and lymph circulation. It is a non-invasive health technique that recognizes that parts of the body such as the feet, reflect the whole body.

What makes Thai Foot Reflexology different from that of Traditional Foot Reflexology is the unique use of the re-useable wooden tool - this greatly helps to decrease stress on thumbs and other joints while performing the treatment on clients.

What you will learn in this course:

  • How to stimulate 58-Reflex Zones, using a wooden massage tool, along with using flat knuckle slides on the plantar, medial & lateral sides of the foot, as well as the toes. This is combined with thumb slides on the dorsal surface of the foot.
  • The work on the Reflex Zones will be combined with 31-cream based massage techniques using hands, palms and fingers to relax lower legs and massage feet & ankles.
  • Learn how to perform a 60-min. Traditional Thai Foot Reflexology & Massage treatment in a step-by-step manner, using a picture workbook.
  • This treatment may be performed on a massage table, in a chair, or bed or on the floor mat.

COURSE DETAILS: 'Sen Energy Thai Massage: Module 1: Sen Kalathari'
1-day, Tues. Nov. 16, 9:30AM - 5:30PM / Atlas Hotel, 4177 Albert St., Regina
Pre-requisites: One or more of the following: "Thai Yoga Massage: Supine & Seated Postures" (Level 1) / "Thai Yoga Massage: Side Lying, Prone & Seated Postures" (Level 2) / "Thai Massage on the Table"

Thai Yoga Massage is well known for it's effective and unique massage techniques, in addition to the many passive yogic stretches that are incorporated into each massage. Another important element in this technique is the work on the Sen Energy Lines, which are similar to those of Japanese Shiatsu and Chinese Acupuncture.

The Sen occupies itself with the flow of prana or chi, which is moving energy between specific points in the body. Internal effects are produced by external pressure and manipulation. According to the yoga transmission, the body is made up of 72,000 Sen Energy Lines and about 10 of them have a direct positive influence on the physical body and its organs.

In this 1-day course, we delve into deeper knowledge of one of the major 'Sen Energy Lines' of Thai Yoga Massage that has been previously studied in Thai Yoga Massage Level 1 & Level 2 and Thai Massage on the Table courses - the 'Sen Kalathari'. The benefits to working 'Sen Kalathari' are numerous. It is often referred to as the 'head and heart line' of the body. It directly affects the head and heart both emotionally and physically, in addition to helping with relieving joint pain and helping to 'ground' someone in times of stress or distraction.

Sen Kalathari begins at the navel and branches into four lines, two on each side of the body. Two lines proceed from the navel up through the chest (right and left side), across the nipples to the shoulder at the hollow below the end of the clavicle and then down the second inside line of the arm (pericardium channel) and then to all fingers. The other two proceed down the abdomen to the second inside line of the leg to the foot and all the toes. The second inside line of the thigh is the Spleen channel and the second inside line of the calf is the kidney channel in Chinese Acupuncture.

Learn new ways to work the Sen line, using thumb circles, palm presses, thumb acupressure and Thai Yoga Stretches.

What you will learn in the Sen Energy Thai Massage course:

  • Learn new ways to work the Sen Kalathari line, using thumb circles, palm presses, thumb acupressure and new, more advanced Thai Yoga Stretches.
  • Learn how to perform stomach massage so as to stimulate the beginning of the Sen Energy flow.
  • We will work with the recipient in the Supine position and dedicate our time to reviewing Sen Kalathari, location and health benefits.
  • A full body Thai Yoga Massage sequence of approximately 90-minutes will be taught that specifically focuses on stimulating Sen Kalathari

What is included in the Sen Energy Thai Massage Course:

  • Picture workbook with Thai Massage sequence descriptions for each step of the work.
  • Unlimited 90-day Video On-Demand Access to the Zoom Meeting recordings of the training event. The link(s) will be provided to you approximately 7 days after you have completed the training.
