Thai Oil Massage introduces students to a smooth, full-body oil-based Thai massage grounded in traditional Thai therapeutic principles. This course blends rhythmic transitions, targeted techniques along the sen energy lines, and the application of aromatic oils to create a treatment that is both deeply calming and highly effective. Along with hands-on practice, students explore the foundational principles and cultural heritage that give Thai Oil Massage its unique purpose and depth.
Students will learn to apply deliberate, focused pressure along the body's sen lines while incorporating stretching, acupressure, and fluid strokes, such as ironing and stripping. The program emphasizes maintaining a continuous flow, structuring sessions effectively, and adapting traditional Thai massage techniques specifically for oil-based treatments. By the end of the course, students will have the skills and confidence to deliver a complete 60-minute Thai Oil Massage session.
One of the program's strengths is its well-rounded curriculum. In addition to the full massage sequence, students learn about oils and balms, floor-based draping methods, contraindications, anatomical line work, and the influences of Thai, Ayurvedic, and Western massage traditions.
This 18-hour training is open to all levels, with no prerequisites. In-person classes are capped at 8 students to ensure personalized instruction. The course includes hands-on practice, online curriculum, a printed handbook, and opportunities to work with client volunteers before the final practical exam. Graduates earn 15 NHPC CECs. Tuition is $540 plus GST and includes lifetime online access, a printed handbook, and a certificate.
