Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Workshop: Course Overview
Introduction
Enhance your massage therapy skills with Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), a gentle, rhythmic technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system, promote relaxation, and support immune health. This two-day workshop is presented by Aron Curcio for Rhythm Massage in a lively, engaging classroom setting.
Why Learn MLD?
- Work Smarter, Not Harder: MLD offers an alternative to physically demanding massage techniques, making it easier on both therapist and client.
- Clinical Benefits:
- Stimulates skin, tissues, and internal organs
- Eliminates cellular waste
- Promotes parasympathetic relaxation and reduces pain
- Boosts immune function, especially valuable during winter
- Evidence-Based Advantages:
- Improved immuno-competent cell production
- Localizes infection
- Detoxifies and removes fluid from compromised areas
Course Learning Outcomes
- Comprehensive review of the lymphatic system and MLD implications
- Understanding lymphatic physiology and flow pathways
- Practice area-specific sequences with correct direction and pressure
- Application of MLD to common clinic pathologies (e.g., carpal tunnel, tennis/golfer’s elbow, post-arthroscopy, sporting injuries)
- Achieve complete lymph node evacuation and drainage
- Review current research and efficacy of MLD
- Full demonstrations and practice of sequences, including "zero pressure" points
What You Gain
- Fun, interactive learning experience
- Hands-on practice and mastery of MLD techniques
- Confidence in performing full-body lymphatic drainage
- Deeper understanding of the lymphatic system and efficient body mechanics
