Specialized Kinesiology

Specialized Kinesiology uses muscle resistance as an indicator of the nervous system/energy response to a variety of specific stimulations.

Dr. Goodheart developed muscle testing for Applied Kinesiology. It was later adapted for different holistic health practices, such as chiropractic and naturopathy.

Over time, the uses and diagnoses performed became more complex and thorough and separated into several distinct holistic health practices. Specialized Kinesiology is used to collectively refer to a family of assessment and treatment systems such as Touch for Health™ and Brain Gym™.

Depending on the type of Specialized Kinesiology, there may be a specific questioning protocol that is followed. Treatment may use further muscle resistance, energy work, or other therapies.

Treatment is based both on the type of Specialized Kinesiology and on the other treatments the practitioner may practise. Some types of kinesiology use muscle techniques. There may be energy work or stimulation of energy points.
